Ultra Optimized XR — character design

Character design and animation for a hypothetical AR experience/game. The aim of this spaceship (with a tiny character) is to create an asset that is clearly recognizable as a spaceship yet feels unique and full of personality. Most of this personality is conveyed through animation, achieved with a “flexible” ship design.

The whole model is textured two 64x64px textures and is only 326KB. More on this below.

Notably, the model and texturing are well-suited for unlit rendering, which could aid in further optimization. You can view this in the Sketchfab viewer below.
